This week I’ve rounded up some beautiful and unique wedding bands for both men and women. Which one is your favorite?
I find the idea of poesy rings so romantic. Most popular in the 16th and 17th centuries in England and France, poesy rings are bands engraved with a special dedication. Historically, they were used as a lover’s token, a wedding ring or simply a means of showing regard or giving a gift. I think they should make a comeback. Heavenly Treasures sells a small collection of them with different sayings in English, French, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish, Old English, Latin, and Celtic. For the more discreet, some bands have the saying hidden on the inside. I think the one engraved with “Vous et Nul Autre” (You and No Other in French) is my favorite. Available in both women’s and men’s sizes.
(Starting at $59 for sterling silver, and $698 for 14K yellow gold, from Heavenly Treasures.)
The gold braids of this wedding ring are meant to symbolize the intertwining of two lives through marriage. A timeless, classic design. Also available in women’s or men’s sizes, different widths, and white gold, rose gold, or platinum.
(Starting at $575 in 14K gold from Apples of Gold.)
I love how committed Designer Melissa Joy Manning is to being environmentally sustainable. She uses 100% recycled gold and silver in all her jewelry, and each piece is made by traditional metal smithing instead of being cast as it produces less waste. That makes these hand-hammered bands below both unique and environmentally friendly.

($1,875, Men’s 4mm 14K White Gold Wedding Band, from Melissa Joy Manning)
The wide width of this band combined with its copious diamonds and gorgeous swirl detailing makes it perfect to wear alone, without an engagement ring. I’ve chosen a mixed metal design of 18K white and yellow gold with diamonds because I like the contrast of colors, but you can customize it however you want.
($4,660 as shown. “Sea Spray” Women’s Wedding Band from Gemvara.)
This 18K white gold wedding band offers a similar amount of bling with three rows of diamonds covering its domed surface, yet with a more streamlined, modern look. Would look perfect on its own or with an engagement ring, too.
($3,675 from James Allen)
